There are now many products on the market that allow us to create textural features within our work but the choice can be confusing, their application unclear, and sometimes elements can look disconnected or just “stuck on” despite our best intentions.
The day will include a little theory but mainly involve practical sampling of the techniques taught with mixed media, fabric and stitching (free-machine and/or hand).
Helen is a very experienced mixed media artist. Her focus includes both functional and non-functional decorative pieces employing a wide range of techniques, fabrics and threads. She regularly sells her work through collaborative art exhibitions and other events.
Sewing machines will be required for this class.
