Welcome to a new year - we hope to provide you with many learning, sharing and creative opportunities in 2017. One of the main goals of our Branch Committee this year is to improve the communication and dialogue with our members and we are looking forward to engaging you more in our meetings and activities. We are always interested to hear your thoughts and suggestions so come and share them at our meetings, send us an email, or follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

We are introducing some new exciting content to our meetings this year. There will be no charge for members to attend any of our meetings and as usual our library will be open throughout the day and there will be Show and Tell and a Stash Table to display your work or to sell or give away your unwanted items.

We are excited to be introducing new activities to our programme:
* ARTIST PANEL - interview style talk with one or more artists/ crafters/ makers
* ARMCHAIR CHAT - one or more members sharing their work, insights and artistic interests by presenting 3 items they have either made or been inspired by
* FEATURED ARTIST - a short talk introducing a favourite artist/ crafter/ maker guiding us in understanding this artist's practice. The afternoon session of the meeting will also include a hands-on activity and/or demonstration of a skill or technique.

If you would like to participate in any of the activities at our meetings please send us an email.

ARTIST TALK AND WORKSHOP – Robyn Vanholland
Branch Meeting 4 March, 2017.
Doors open at 10am

The first thing that attracted me to basketry was the idea that growing in my garden was all the material that i needed. As we caravanned to parts of Australia i kept finding more fibre! Thus my obsession grew. Fortunately I had an understanding husband - Robyn Vanholland

Robyn will bring objects made from various fibres and demonstrate using different basketry techniques. Through this Artist Talk, members can find out how to source fibre in places other than those found in your own garden and have the opportunity to learn the process itself and explore basketry techniques?

Great opportunity to meet this Brisbane based Visual Artist and immerse yourself in a friendly creative activity.

UPCOMING WORKSHOP - Robyn Vanholland

Quarterly meetings feature Challenges and the Library to help you expand your creativity, while our social days feature a hands-on demonstration of a technique or product that you may find useful in your creations. Our goal is to keep members interested, involved and inspired!

Our program of workshops, social days and quarterly meetings provide for a sharing and learning experience and are open to all members (and guests) - so we look forward to seeing you soon.
