Brisbane designer Masayo Yasuki produces contemporary, atypical designer clothing for women who want to break away from mass-produced, retail fashion constraints. dogstar designs unique and original clothing combining Japanese techniques and aesthetics with the Australian lifestyle. dogstar clothing is distinct and easily recognisable, with its combinations of structured and dominant layers. Much attention is paid to cut, fit, wearability and comfort. Prominent in dogstar garments is the use of natural fabrics and fibres, handcrafted with printing, dying, and stitching. Being Japanese, Masayo brings to dogstar a transcultural mix of inspiration and a discerning eye for detail and silhouette. She came to Brisbane from Japan in the early 1990s to begin a marketing degree at the Queensland University of Technology, but her love was always fashion.
ATASDA is proud to offer a unique opportunity to meet Masayo and hear her clothing story in the dogstar studio at 1 Burke St, Woolloongabba. Numbers are strictly limited, secure your place now.

Formed in 2007, the Queensland Branch of ATASDA has attracted an increasing number of members with many diverse skills. Our meetings are a mix of formal, informal, educational and "showcase" components - the result creating an enthusiastic, friendly environment designed to encourage all.
Quarterly meetings feature Challenges and the Library to help you expand your creativity, while our social days feature a hands-on demonstration of a technique or product that you may find useful in your creations. Our goal is to keep members interested, involved and inspired!
Our program of workshops, social days and quarterly meetings provide for a sharing and learning experience and are open to all members (and guests) - so we look forward to seeing you soon.
