Challenge - September 2011
Celebrate Spring!
The Challenge
The promise of Spring!!!
A time of rebirth, renewal and optimism, warmer weather, clear blue skies, new growth in our gardens, chicks in nests and the birth of ... never mind: Banjo Paterson said it in a much better way. This is the last verse of a poem he wrote many years ago, simply called ‘Australian Poetry’.
The wind is in the barley-grass,
The wattles are in bloom;
The breezes greet us as they pass
With honey sweet perfume;
The parakeets go screaming by
With flash of golden wing,
And from the swamp the wild ducks cry
Their long-drawn note of revelry,
Rejoicing in the Spring.
Your challenge for the September meeting is to produce a piece drawing inspiration from the text above. You may use any technique and materials you choose, the twist is, that cork must be incorporated into your piece.
DON'T FORGET TO INCLUDE THE CORK!
Sue says ... any type of cork can be used and any amount included (recognisable or 'distressed!). It is up to the individual as to how the theme is interpreted.
