ATASDA's new structure allows for the formation of groups within a branch. A group consists of five or more members with a common interest - they may live in the same area or share a mutual interest in a particular area of textile art.

NSW Branch currently includes one group, and more are the planning stage. Contact a committee member if you would like to discuss your ideas about how a group could extend or support your exploration of textile arts.

The Fibre Alchemists group started in February 2007. The members meet monthly, sharing skills, helping each other to stay motivated and to problem solve. The group reports "As experienced or aspiring textile artists we so often work in isolation and that does not suit everyone. This group is proving to be a simple and enjoyable answer".

This group has limited membership numbers, allowing focus and committment, and is currently full.
