NSW Branch Meetings

A lot happens at a NSW Branch Quarterly meeting, and many members choose to spend the whole day at Dence Park.

The more structured part of the day starts at 11.15am with Workshop & Taster promos, but doors open from 9.15am – 4:00pm. These days are a great way for members to get together, as well as catch up with all the latest ATASDA news.

Information for New Members
Dence Park is a little off the beaten track as far as places to buy food and drinks are concerned. It's advisable when you come to meetings to bring your own mug and lunch. Coffee, tea, milk and sugar are available (no charge) from ATASDA NSW 's pantry.

There is a Welcome Table at the entrance to our meeting room for you to sign in. When you arrive please let someone know you are a new member so they can welcome and introduce you. Please feel free to contribute extra food on the table to share – always acceptable and always appreciated.

General Meeting Days offer the following:

Library: The Library is open for members to browse, borrow and return books throughout the day. It is closed during focus sessions, that is, Workshop & Tasters promos, Show & Tell, Business Meeting and Speaker/s to minimise disruption and allow all members, including Library volunteers, to fully participate in the day.

Workshops:
Opportunity to sign up for ATASDA Workshops and Textile Tasters.

Traders’ Tables throughout the morning: Members may bring any items they wish to sell. Please contact Fiona Hammond to check availability of space. Profits from sales stay with the sellers – there is no fee for a table. Trading ceases during focus sessions to minimise disruption. Traders can only trade at afternoon tea if the space isn't required for Business Meeting or guest speaker to set up.

Show & Tell: Members are encouraged to bring items from ATASDA workshops, or any other pieces they would like to show fellow members. ‘Works in progress’ are welcome, as are finished pieces. We love to see what you have been up to, and catch a bit of that "contagious creativity".

Business Meeting: NSW Branch President reports and shares information with members. Other reports may also be presented. Members have the opportunity to discuss needs and raise items with NSW Committee.

Speakers: This is a great way to see and hear what is happening in your peer’s and others’ practice, in the world of textiles greater than NSW Branch and ATASDA in general, and in the sphere of other professional fields and institutions that may affect or indeed feed your textile practice.
